My brother, one of my best friends and myself participated in Carry the Load this weekend in Dallas. It was one of the most humbling experiences of my life thus far. About a month before the event they asked me, “So who are you carrying?” so I sent the event coordinators an email with our picture and some basic info about Mike’s military career and they said that it would be posted on the route somewhere. On the first day near the end of the 3.5 mile route we spotted the poster and took some pictures (and of course they end up on Facebook). Mike saw it and said, “babe the poster is so cool! do you get to take it home?!” so I asked an event coordinator the next morning if I could take it down and bring it along the rest of the route back to the finish line and take it home…she said “why the hell not?!”. So we took down the poster this morning and carried it back with us. I literally carried him over the finish line with me…and I’d do it all over again tomorrow. I love you to the moon and back, Michael. And I will always Carry the Load for you!
